In this video, the crack growth in a two-dimensional concrete plate is simulated using the XFEM procedure in Abaqus. The concrete is modeled with 2D shell elements, and a separation traction law suitable for crack growth is applied. A dynamic implicit step is performed, and the results are shown through several figures of the simulation.
