Recently, external explosive events have become a major concern for tunnel safety. The lack of effective detection systems makes it difficult to take preventive action in time. In this study, ABAQUS software was used to simulate the behavior of an underground box-frame tunnel subjected to a surface explosion. During the Explicit analysis, TNT shock waves propagated through air and soil, generating stresses in the concrete tunnel structure. Figures from the simulation are shown below.
