This package contains a CAE file and a Persian-language video that explain the Friction Stir Welding (FSW) process step by step. In the simulation, Eulerian elements are used for the two copper pieces, while Lagrangian elements are applied to the welding tool.
During the analysis, the temperature distribution across the copper pieces can be observed. Images of the process are also included.
Friction Stir Welding (FSW) is a solid-state joining technique. It relies on frictional heating and plastic deformation created by the interaction between a rotating, non-consumable welding tool and the contact surfaces of the joined parts.
Experimental studies of FSW are often time-consuming and expensive. To address these challenges, numerical analysis has been widely used in recent years. Several simplified numerical models have been developed to better understand the complex thermo-mechanical phenomena involved in FSW.
