In this tutorial, the consolidation of soil in interaction with a concrete pile has been investigated using Abaqus. All components were modeled within a single part, and the geometry was divided into three zones through partitioning: the soil zone, the pile, and a cohesive zone to represent the interaction between the pile and the surrounding soil.
The analysis was carried out in three steps:
In the first step, soil body forces were applied.
In the second step, the pile load was introduced.
In the third step, the consolidation phenomenon was modeled by applying soil steps over a long time period.
