Workshop: Simulation Arc Welding Process With Dflux Subroutine In Abaqus Stress Analysis

In this video, you will see a step-by-step tutorial of the welding simulation process in Abaqus using the DFLUX subroutine to define a non-uniform heat distribution.

For this example, we created the geometry of the workpiece and defined material properties as temperature-dependent. Steel was used as the material, with elastic, plastic, conductivity, thermal expansion, and specific heat properties all varying with temperature.

The applied heat source generates significant thermal stresses in the plate. In the figures below, you can see some of the results from this simulation.
