Workshop: Simulation Pile In Interaction With Soil Under Vertical Load In Abaqus

In this tutorial, the interaction between a pile and soil under vertical load is investigated using Abaqus. A two-dimensional model is applied. The concrete pile is defined as an elastic material, while the soil is modeled with Mohr-Coulomb plasticity and variable elastic properties depending on elevation. Infinite elements are used to represent the soil region far from the load zone, achieved by modifying the input file. The simulation is carried out in four steps. Figures from the analysis are shown below.
