Workshop: Simulation Pile Penetration To The Soil In Abaqus

In this tutorial, pile penetration into soil is simulated using the Coupled Eulerian–Lagrangian (CEL) method in Abaqus. The soil is modeled as an Eulerian domain with a Coulomb–Mohr material model. The pile is represented as a three-dimensional Lagrangian part with concrete material properties. An explicit procedure is chosen for this analysis. Two steps are defined:

  1. In the first step, body forces are applied to the soil.
  2. In the second step, the pile penetrates into the soil.
