In this tutorial, the effect of a water jet on a thin plate is simulated using Abaqus.
- The water is modeled with the Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) method.
- The material behavior is defined using the Us–Up equation.
- The plate is represented as a shell element with elastic–plastic properties.
- Plate failure during impact is captured by creating a damage model using the Edit Keyword capability.
